JRC Open call for EU regions: 2030CATALYSTS
The implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) remains uneven across European territories, and the need for cohesive, transformative SDG strategies is pressing.
All regions who are committed to a more sustainable, resilient, inclusive world and are looking to enhance their local SDG policies can now apply to participate in the project '2030CATALYSTS: Implementation of the SDGs in the regions – from monitoring to action'.
Objective: turning regions into a regional mission
2030CATALYSTS aims to equip all regions with the necessary knowledge and tools to implement the SDGs through place-based strategies, localised to each regional context. The project will empower regions to refine their approach to SDG monitoring and achievement, and to weave the SDGs into their unique societal fabrics.
Regions: what to expect
Selected applicants will pave the way for an ecosystem of collaboration, where every region contributes to and benefits from collective knowledge and data-driven strategies. Participating regions can expect to:
- Access scientific expertise on SDG implementation and monitoring
- Identify relevant indicators in collaboration with experts, partner institutions and other regions
- Learn from best practices in other regions and from quantitative analyses performed by the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC)
- Establish themselves as sustainable development leaders.
Who should apply
A maximum of 20 regions will have the opportunity to participate in 2030CATALYSTS.
Selected regions are expected to commit actively to project activities, to provide relevant datasets, reports and other resources for SDG monitoring and implementation, as well as regional insights on their progress towards the SDGs.
